In this project, students will learn to view the advertisements that are a part of their everyday lives with a critical lens. We will focus on the culture and science behind advertising, noting significant developments and/or shifts in the field across time. Students will connect with local experts, create their own advertisements utilizing various mediums, and experiment with light, sound and radio waves. As the project unfolds, the students will be developing a toolkit to help them deconstruct the messages that are implicit in ads in order to share this information with the wider community. Please visit our individual blogs for updated photos from this project.
